Cava The Gymnast

After months of doing flips on our couch, our bed, and at the bar in our kitchen, Cava finally started gymnastics yesterday.

At first he started out distracted and wanting to do anything but what he was supposed to be doing, but before long, he was joining in with the others.

I think he enjoyed being the only boy in the class. I can't help but wonder if it will be the same thing that happens at school where groups of girls are always waving and calling out "Goodbye" to Cava when I pick him up. From what his teachers at school tell me, there are lots of girls who like to get hugs from him. Yes, I'll be keeping an eye on this one as he gets older.

During his first lesson, Cava worked on doing hand-stands, back flips, somersaults, and cartwheels.

Of course, his favorite thing was to just do flips

Gotta' love that dismount!

Who knows, maybe we have a future Ihor Radivilov on our hands (He was a Ukrainian gymnast who won a Bronze medal at the London Olympics in 2012).

  1. Hahahaha about the dismount!! What a great way to channel all of his energy! I really hope he loves gymnastics enough to stick with it for a while because I think it will be so good for his physical and emotional health.:)

  2. That is hilarious!! Love it! Our daughter is a completive gymnast and she loves it. Has been first place lots of times. It is fun to watch and cheer her on. Have fun with it! He is a natural.
